Camelcamelcamel and Pinboard
How many posts are read by their authors once published? Probably very few. I rarely spend time re-readin my own old posts.
I write this post thinking about re-reading it in a few years time.
Anyway this post is about new online tools that make my life easier. This is what they have in common
- absence of display advertising
- simple user interfaces
- focus on solving a single problem or satisfying a single need
And above all, they do what it says on the tin. Nothing more and nothing less.
Camelcamelcamel: tracks the prices of items on Amazon. It’s UK variant, uk.camelcamelcamel.com tracks Amazon.co.uk.
Tracking prices makes sense when you are planning to buy something expensive in the mid-term, for instance a smartphone.
Pinboard: a paying alternative to Delicious, the social bookmarking site. It looks simple, quick and efficient. I like its interface.
I will check its bookmarklets offered on the howto page.
